The Power of Tenderness
Milan Design Week 2025, Galleria Rossana Orlandi
“The Power of Tenderness” is an invitation to softness in our interiors, through the poetry of design. Unveiling her collection of evocative, narrative furniture for the first time in Milan at Rossana Orlandi, Aline Asmar d’Amman takes over a space bathed in light under the historic vaults of the famous gallery. Her Georgia sofas, Béton Littéraire (Literary Concrete) bookshelves, and pink and green onyx tables intertwine like an announcement of spring.
Aline Asmar d’Amman’s collectible furniture series ‘Béton Littéraire’ (Literary Concrete), ‘The Memory of Stone’, her iconic conversation salon ‘Georgia’, and the ‘Soft Shell’ tables—distinct furniture collections that embody the philosophy of her work centered on the idea of culture as an essential framework, the love of untamed marble, and expressive objects with strong femininity—find their place among the singular creations represented by Milan-based gallery Rossana Orlandi.
Poetic materiality is an integral part of Aline Asmar d’Amman’s architectural practice, driven by a quest for meaning and nourished by literary influence. Gesture and exceptional artistry are inseparable from this pursuit. “Creating the bookshelves, pedestals, and other objects in ‘Béton Littéraire’ (Literary Concrete) is a delectable act of isolation and total immersion in a world that is my own, where piles of books are stacked like bricks with scorched stones. I love to find myself in the immense halls of Laboratorio Morseletto, in Vicenza, Italy, with the exceptional craftsmen of this workshop run by a third generation of women. Everything intermingles on the large tables: my obsessive readings, the broken stones, and the sound of the saws. Sculpting the carefully chosen works, I lovingly marry words and marble. Their veins and the paper fuse to give birth to a rare poetic material”. It’s also here, in this unique laboratory in northern Italy, that all the pieces of ‘The Memory of Stones’ collection are handmade, using stones extracted from the nearby quarry grafted onto smooth raw marbles, in an act of upcycling union,” explains Aline Asmar d’Amman.

Le Petit salon du 19M
Paris
le19M invited architect Aline Asmar d’Amman to imagine le Petit Salon, a discreet and poetic haven for receptions, conceived as a tribute to the exceptional savoir-faire of the resident Maisons d’art. Nestled within Rudy Ricciotti’s architectural creation bridging Paris and Aubervilliers, this intimate alcove celebrates the dialogue between heritage and contemporary creation.
Adorned with bespoke pieces born of collaborations between the architect and the artisans of le19M, some unveiled at the 2023 Design Parade Toulon, the space embodies Aline Asmar d’Amman’s signature vocabulary: sculpted materiality, narrative design, and literary resonance. Le Petit Salon becomes both sanctuary and story, where textures speak, and craftsmanship is elevated to art.
Evoking essential themes to the architect’s core philosophy, poetic materiality, haute craftsmanship, and evocative interiors—le Petit salon du 19M is an unexpected perched alcove, imbued with artistic and literary references. Its dreamlike decor is an invitation to sensory astonishment built around exceptional collaborations with the Maisons d’art residents at le19M. A unique narrative brings together words and textures that combine the architect’s drawing and the magic of writing with exceptional craftsmanship.
