Aline Asmar d’Amman presents her collection Memory of Stones 1 & Il at Design Doha, the first edition of the design biennial celebrating Arab creatives from 24th February to 5th August 2024.

Among more than 100 designers from the MENA region, Aline Asmar d’Amman presents four pieces from her collection “The Memory of Stones” for the inaugural Design Doha biennal.
Centred around the idea of concrete poetry, architect Aline Asmar d’Amman creates unique pieces in reclaimed marble and rawstone, created in collaboration with the historic marble makers Laboratorio Morseletto in Vicenza, Northern Italy. The functional sculptures, made from the rough surfaces, integrate an upcycling approach, revealing the raw beauty of stone extracted from the quarry and combined with handpicked discarded marble fragments.

For this first biennal, curated by Rana Beiruti, founder of Amman Design Week, Aline Asmar d’Amman presents two Stone Cloud tables, as part of a series of singular side tables with a bold mineral and sculptural presence. Combining rare and forgotten marbles grafted onto the Vicenza hard stone – considered for its great resistance as a stone cutting bed _ the pieces pay tribute to high craft and salvaged beauty.
